Baby Names

12 May

Husband and I were out to breakfast this morning and an entirely precious little girl (maybe 3 or 4?) came in to look for a table for her family. She scoped out a table for two and in the tiniest voice possible calls: “I found one daddy!”

Dad comes over: “We need a table for four, Annabelle.”

Husband and I look at one another and immediately decide that Annabelle can go on out list of potential baby names.

Awww that’s really cute, especially with your last name! Baby names are hard. We were literally deciding until the last possible second. We ha it narrowed down to a few, but hadn’t settled until we were forced to write it on a Happy Birthday button from Disney World! The guy asked us what to write and we looked at each other and said, “Ok, let’s go with Brendan!” Haha.

I was pretty obsessive about the “meaning” of the name (some are, some aren’t, to each their own)…..the name we originally wanted ended up being the slave woman of some person I’d never even heard of. On the same list, however, was Ezzah and after reading the meaning I knew I had to have it, even if “Ezzah Emma” at first sounded really obnoxious to me šŸ™‚ Absolutely not related to your own search, just made me think of it.

Meaning is important to me as well. We’re still just playing around with what sounds nice. Not really worrying about it until it’s an official thing. We pretty much already have a boy name pretty well chosen. It’s only if we have a girl that we’ll have to find something we agree on.
