For the past three months, we’ve been leading a new kind of small group through our church. The Sandals Health & Fitness Small Group workout began every Saturday morning at 7:30 AM and finished around 9:30. At 9:30 it was nice to be finished and move on with our day, but when we got up to prepare every Saturday at 6:00 AM it was not so exciting.
Today is our last meeting with that group. I’ve love them so much and am happy we got to journey together for a short time at least. We grounded ourselves as we studied scripture about beauty, health, and taking care of God’s temple. We found new confidence and strength as we completed short, INTENSE workouts each morning. We understood more about our own, individual bodies as we walked through a 35 day Paleo challenge. We built community as we became real with ourselves, others, and God about how we care for our bodies on a daily basis.
It was great. I love it. For our first time, I think it went pretty well. Husband and I will take a break to re-evaluate, clean up, and improve our curriculum before round two begins. We’re hoping for January, when we are also hoping to move our meeting time. It would be wonderful to sleep in on Saturday mornings once again.
