Anthropomorphism

17 Jun

According to wikipedia, Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human characteristics to, or, some would argue, recognition of human characteristics in, non-human creatures and beings, phenomena, material states and objects or abstract concepts. Examples include animals and plants and forces of nature such as winds, rain or the sun depicted as creatures with human motivation able to reason and converse.

I am the poster-child for this. I assign human characteristics to everything from variables in algebraic equations when I’m teaching to my car and everything in between. Am I alone in this? Sometimes The Husband and I have complete conversations through our dog. Come on, look at her?! She’s clearly a people.
